If you didn’t watch Anita’s performance on the 2009 BET Honors (I know, I know, since the cancellation of Uncut, you don’t really watch BET anymore), you missed what EXPERIENCE sounds like. It’s a shame that very few of today’s artists can match the soulfulness of our stars of “yesterday”. But I’m not telling you anything you don’t already know…right???

Caught Up in the Rapture is one of those songs that reminds me of my childhood.  It received play all of the time and everywhere round ‘86/’87.  It always seemed that when my Dad would pick me up from school, one of the first 3 songs played on Kiss or BLS was something off of the Rapture album.

Many factors influenced me to give the album a renewed listen - the recent Grammy Awards (in ‘87, she won 2), the BET Honors and a newish song that I can’t stop playing…
